Juliette Pulman (postdoctoral researcher in Deniz Dalkara's Team at Institut de la Vision) will hold a talk on Monday 3rd April, 12.00 PM, in the conference room of the UCL, 13 Rue Moreau.

This talk will be on "Direct Cas9 protein delivery mediated gene editing in the retina".


Genome editing mediated by CRISPR-Cas has shown promise for the treatment of retinal dystrophies. Transient delivery of CRISPR-Cas9 to the retina could be an interesting alternative to viral vector for therapeutic applications but has yet shown only limited efficacy in the retinal pigment epithelium and not in the other retinal layers.
We investigated if CRISPR-Cas9 could be transiently delivered, with or without non-viral vectors, to the neural retina in vivo

Personal Statement

"I graduated from my study in Pharmacy in 2015 and did a double diploma with a master degree in Genetics. During my PhD, I worked on abnormal mitochondrial protein synthesis and maturation in humans. I discovered CRISPR/Cas9 and its countless possibilities for treating genetic defects. After graduating with my PhD, I joined the team of Deniz Dalkara in 2019 to work on the direct delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 for the treatment of inherited retinal disease."
