Research interests: It is well known that aging alters vision. But beyond presbyopia, the factors responsible for the loss of sensitivity of various visual functions remain poorly characterized. Light is one of them and it plays a role even in some non-visual physiological pathways. In the framework of the Silversight II Chair “Healthy & Pathological Visual Aging, Spatial Cognition, Autonomy”, I will investigate how these light-sensitive brain pathways evolve with age. Furthermore, I will explore how light affects visuo-spatial processing, cognitive and memory functions and to what extent some combination of lights can improve them.
