Strong collaborations with numerous national and international research institutions have been established and consolidated over the last 2 decades. Here only to mention some partners: the Pasteur Institute, the Paris Observatory, within the DHU (Hospital-University Department) Vision et Handicap: the Rothschild Ophthalmology Foundation, the AP-HP (Hôpital Lariboisière, Pitié-Salpêtrière) and the CHI Créteil; the Institut Langevin, the European Institute for Theoretical Neuroscience of the Brain Project European Flagship (hosted on site), the Max-Planck-Institut (Frankfurt), University College London (London), the Friedrich Miescher-Institut for Biomedical Research (Basel), the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) (Harvard Medical School, Boston), and the Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore).
In partnership with many industrial companies, the Institut de la Vision developsnot only technological solutions (including the artificial retina) to improve the quality of life of the visually impaired people, but also therapeutic innovations (pharmaceutical, cell and gene therapy). Only to name a few, collaborations are ongoing with: Sanofi, Pfizer, Alcon, Allergan, GenSight Biologics, Santen-Novagali, Essilor, Thales, Siemens, Imagine Eyes, Pixium Vision and LLTech.
The Institut de la Vision also supervises a network of 90 European clinical research sites on retinal diseases (EVICR.net)
