High resolution imaging technologies, exemplified by adaptive optics ophthalmoscopy (AOO) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) are progressively transferring from the lab to the clinic. This is an opportunity to better understand retinal diseases, to optimize their management but also to provide novel biomarkers for other medical specialities. However, there is still an unmet need in the field of clinical interpretation of AOO images, and more importantly in the integration of AOO into clinical practice.

The *late summer course on adaptive optics ophthalmoscopy*, that will take place in Paris, on *September the 4th and 5th, 2019* will report on the latest advances of high resolution imaging, both on its technical and medical aspects. *Physicists* and *ophthalmologists* will share their thoughts and experiences in the *use and interpretation of AOO*.

Invited speakers include Ravi Jonnal (University of California, Davis), Michael Pircher (University of Vienna), Michael Larsen (University of Copenhagen), Ethan Rossi (University of Pittsburgh), along with local Paris group members Kate Grieve, Michel Paques, Claude Boccara, Serge Meimon, Michael Atlan and clinical collaborators from the Quinze Vingts Hospital.
