DONATE MAINS

prototype IIConference dedicated to the presentation of the a new generation of camera to facilitate navigation on smartphones for the elderly.

Four years of research have enabled the development of an innovative technology that will revolutionize the interaction between man and mobile communication technologies: thanks to the integration of a neuromorphic camera inspired by human vision, it is now possible to control a smartphone (or digital tablet) by voice or by gesture, whatever the environmental conditions may be ("light and sound intensities") and without overconsumption of the battery. This means a great step forward in facilitating the use of these communication tools by the elderly and visually impaired, who often have difficulty with small touch screens!

Come and discover this prototype on Tuesday 24 July 2018, from 10h30 to 12h30 at the Cité Universitaire (Paris), during a conference/demonstration organised by the Voir & Entendre Foundation and the Institut de la Vision, partners of the European project ECOMODE (Event-Driven Compressive Vision for Multimodal Interaction with Mobile Devices). The ECOMODE project is led by a European consortium and funded by the European Commission.
