The platform aims at supporting research teams in characterizing rodent models of ocular pathologies and evaluating the efficacy of new therapeutic treatments on these models. The personnel can educate technician, researchers, and students on the techniques available on the platform or perform their studies with corresponding costs. 

optoTo characterize the rodent retinal phenotype, function can be assessed by behavioral tests (optometer response) or electroretinogram recordings. The retinal structure is then imaged in vivo by OCT , SLO , Micron, slit lamp. Corneal can be imaged to. Intraocular pressure is measured by tonometer. Retinal lesions can be generated by intense light exposition, Laser pulses, or episcleral vein occlusion (glaucoma models). To evaluate therapies, injections are performed in the peritonea, veins, eyes (vitreous, subretinal).

In addition The Virtual Reality - Jet Ball, an experimental system of virtual reality, can be used to study vision, navigation, cognition, learning and memory.

It consists of a sphere on air cushion that allows a rodent (mouse, rat) to navigate in a virtual space. Virtual reality provides a perfectly controllable experimental environment.
